My stuff from left to right: a heart I just had to have, gingerbread man cutter with an alternative use and a Sewboytenesque freehand machine embroidered heart.
Well it seemed like a good idea at the time – starting a blog that is. A natural progression, following on from the newly created Sewboytenesque facebook page. Inspiration would strike and words would flow easily…I should have learnt by now!
Any creation takes time to formalise, crystallise and realise. I like playing with words so perhaps I’ll just go with the flow and maybe think about why I’ve started blogging. The word itself seems quite undignified, yet rather endearing. I blog, you blog, she blogs, she is a blogger; what exactly is a blog? Is it blag? Is it a series of ramblings to be edited later? Or is it whatever you want it to be? Seeing as I’m the arty type and have a duty to fit the stereotype, I think I’ll go with the free-spirited latter. I do however need to be mindful of the theme Make do and Mend.
STUFF! I have so much stuff. It’s not possessions, it’s just stuff and stuff breeds stuff. I like to collect shiny, colourful, pretty stuff. The stuff is boxed and then stuffed in my box-room. I used to sit in my lovely little room looking at my lovely little stuff, having lovely thoughts doing lovely work. Then the stuff took over and the thoughts stopped and the work stopped. Enough! Enough stuff!
War on stuff! Time for action and time to make amends. Make amends…make do and mend. That’s it! I can make do and mend, yes I can, I know I can. I think I can mend. If I can’t now, then I can learn. I can sew and I can create. OK then, start with what you like doing and see what happens from there.
So there we go, Sewboytenesque is back and I’ve just finished my first blog!
